Tamarine is a contemporary Vietnamese restaurant that features the light but flavor-intensive culinary delicacies of Vietnam. The restaurant offers a menu based on small plates, promoting the Vietnamese tradition of the 'shared' meal in which food is shared and enjoyed with those close. Tamarine's small plate entrees are enjoyed with the pairing of a variety of aromatic, flavor infused rice, designed to be mixed and matched to create a truly unique flavor experience. Along with culinary delicacies of Vietnam, the restaurant showcases the works of emerging artists from Vietnam and other Southeast Asian countries. Semi-annual exhibits will close with a cocktail event to auction the art. Proceeds will be donated to La Maison Chance, an orphanage in Saigon, Vietnam.

great ambience, reasonable food, hard to get reservation

We ordered Emperor's escargot as the starter. The ginger flavor overpowered the other ingredients. Oxtail soup tasted sweet full of fried onion fragrance, but it reminded me of the soup base for pho. For the main entrees, we had red wine venison and chile lime aubergine. The venision tasted like reconstituted meat; the dish lacked the savory character typical of game meats. It was definitely not worth $22. The aubergine (japansee eggplant) was grilled to perfection. But we cannot taste any lime, chile or even salt in it. We both liked the festive and Haninan rice, which we ordered to complement the entrees. The service was good and attentive. We could not get a reservation for 2 at 6:00pm; only 5:00 or 9:15pm were available.

Great food, pretty good service, especially one to go to when in big groups (ordering many food plates to share is the way to go!). Go try it out!

Just went there for my daughter's birthday. The food was good, the service OK, but they seated us right by the aisle with direct sun on us and one wobbly chair. This with a reservation a week in advance! When asked to change tables I was told nothing else was available, It will be a while before I return.
