A large, cozy, truly authentic pub built by a gaggle of Englishmen and designed by an English pub designer, The Duke is a haven for many an expat and their friends. It never fails to serve up a good drink and a warm meal. At both lunch and dinner, there's standard bar food (calamari, chicken wings) as well as hot sandwiches, fish and chips, bangers and mash, beef Wellington, barbecued chicken and other hearty fare. There's a large "smoking patio" with heaters, and a bartender that does a song-and-dance at regular intervals. The Duke's a good destination on Irish holidays as well as during World Cup games or other big soccer games -- whatever time of the day or night big games are on you'll find a cheering or booing crowd who'll want to drink to your team with you.
