The food at this small establishment is WONDERFUL. The ambiance is quite beautiful with works of art and attractive place settings. This is the second time I have eaten here. We arrived at 8:30p or so, four of us; perhaps there were four occupied tables. The waitperson seemed annoyed that we were even there; in my opinion it took far too long for the waitperson to take our drink order and food order. When she set the table she handled the eating side of the utensils--presumably this is contrary to food department rules and regulations; water was not refilled without my asking. Other staff members seemed eager to properly take care of guests but not our waitperson. In general, I always leave a tip of at least 20% and sometimes 25%. However, in this instance, I did not leave a tip. This staff member followed me outside; she said the tip line had been crossed out...and wanted to know if there was a problem. I told her what the problem was--her. I asked if she was the owner (no). After our two or three minute conversation I still don't think she understood what I was talking about. A note about the owners: I don't know them from Adam...they have a nice looking place which serves good food but this particular staff member is a real negative in my opinion; this staff member is the same who waited on us the first time...her attitude the second time was still as negative as it was the first time...despite the fact that the food was so good, I will not return; I can spend my money elsewhere where I am welcomed as a guest as opposed to an annoyance.
