Rate and Write a Review With the 2002 completion of a new tower of rooms and suites, The Fairmont San Jose boasts a total of 808 rooms and 41 suites. Located next to The Tech Museum of Innovation and in close proximity to major Silicon Valley campuses, The Fairmont caters to the high tech business community and convention crowds. While the Fairmont considers itself a business class hotel, theyre also all business when it comes to luxury. After all, The Fairmont is a Fairmont, known for opulence and luxury. Guests are asked at check-in whether theyd prefer a city view or a mountain view (both are fairly impressive), and whichever view they choose guests will find a plushy terry robe in each closet. Rooms are equipped with an Internet connection, On Command Video service, speakerphone, Playstation, CD-clock radio and a scale. For out-of-the-room pampering, the hotel also has a pool, a health club with steam and massage rooms and a full-service salon which offers services like manicures, haircuts and facials to weary guests. When hunger strikes, food choice at The Fairmont ranges from Chinese to a New York-style steak house to good old-fashioned burgers and fries. Local restaurants such as Gordon Biersch, the Tied House Brewery, Katie Blooms and numerous taquerias are also within walking distance. So leave the car with the valet and head out into downtown San Jose for adventure -- return to The Fairmont for luxurious relaxation. -- Bethany Polentz
