A favorite of San Pedro Square employees, this retro '50s-style diner makes lunch in San Jose a pleasantly nostalgic experience. The prices at Peggy Sue's are reasonable, and the juicy burgers and thick milkshakes are guilty pleasures. With more than 30 cutely named burgers and sandwiches to choose from (Sputnik, Ocean's 11, American Bandstand, to name a few) plus hot dogs, sausages, and a create-your-own-sandwich option, even picky eaters are sure to find something they like. Peggy Sue's also has gardenburgers and salads for vegetarians and a kids' menu for "little rock 'n' rollers." Wash down your burger with a vanilla Coke or a sinfully rich strawberry shake.
