There are plenty of good reasons that Toon's is one of the busiest bars in town. Mostly, it's the quality bands and DJs that pump up the wide-grinned dancers packed on the dance floor. Local bar bands such as the Gents, Uncle Melvin and Kissing Sabrina are regulars on the weekly live-music lineup, as are up-and-coming local acts. And Smash Mouth played at Toon's long before it earned heavy-rotation on the radio. The DJs that spin between sets keep you guessing, playing anything from modern rock to techno to funk. Toon's offers multiple diversions as well. In addition to darts and arcade games, pool sharks can congregate in the Felt Room, which houses seven tables and a bar. And then there's the Bubble Machine, which manages to attract even the most timid wallflowers to the center of the jumping dance floor. Sundays are the weekly Millennium Funk Party and Mondays feature DJ Jazzy C. Oh yeah, the cover is always less than $4. -- Bernice Yeung

Hey All me and my sister are from Seattle and we were in San Jose for a Family event and we stumbled upon Toons on a Sat. in July, We had sososo much fun the band was great I do not remember there name but Todd was Hot and had a great smile I think we took 20 some odd photos of him. I had a great time. Toons really cheered us up from the depression of a funeral. All the people we met were awesome too. Thanks for agreat time!!!!!!

I love toons. I go there all the time. The bands may leave a little to be desired, but it's a great place to hang with buds and have a good time.

I have to say that the only reason this bar is worth a damn is that the girls are incredible. The staff is weak. The bouncers are punks that gang up on people if they look at them funny and the MC is a wannbe. For the most part the rotation of bands is limited so you hear the same garbage over and over. Beware, if some of these bands play your favorite song it may haunt you and ruin your affinity for the song instantly. The front man for the "biggest" of them all ,Uncle Melvin, needs a damned stand with the lyrics to songs because he is not professional. Hank is surely a wank. No range and limited stage presence. Thank God for the hot girls in this club that make it go or it would be out of business. One other thing, the hip hop DJ's are cool. Kaos and the women are what makes this place tick. Best to stay on the back room out of earshot of the swill on stage. Watch out for the 90 pound bouncer with the moustache, if you see him you might laugh so hard your beer will shoot up your nose!

Got the chance to check out the scene this past Saturday. Thought it was excellent, had JumpCity performing again and they were great. The lead singer is so sexy, and provocative. He just pulls you into the scene and makes you enjoy the atmosphere he's setting for the people partying. His performance was so exhilarating, he managed to handle the crowd and the nasty freaks while keeping things respectful. He enjoyed the vibe the crowd was giving and just soaked it up. The entire band were so entertaining to the point where you were able to appreciate their efforts they were giving making sure the crowd enjoyed their Saturday night as much as they were enjoying it themselves. The bouncers at the door make you feel welcomed and their presence reassures anyone they are in a safe environment with professionals on all levels of entertainment. I'm glad to see that when a girl from the valley travels to the "big city" that the people really know how to party right. You keep JumpCity on the entertainment docket and I'll be traveling to Toon's every weekend. Thanks for the great experience. Keep it up JumpCity, you're great.
