The Sportsman's Lounge on Figueroa Street was the last place in Santa Barbara to comply with the new California anti-smoking laws. Nowadays the clientele take smoke-breaks on the street outside. This notoriously rough 'n' ready dive usually has Santa Barbara's rock musicians leaning on the bar most nights, together with a strange mix of hard drinkers, swing dancers, alternative college kids and barstool philosophers. It's got plenty of character, a pool table and no one puts on any airs and graces. It's real. -- Duncan Wright

If you are intrigued by a 'never know what you're gonna get' atmosphere, this is the place. Mingle with the best (and worst) of SB.
