Nicholby's has earned its reputation as the best small venue to experience live music in Ventura -- and arguably, in Santa Barbara and Ventura counties. Its cool, dark atmosphere, rendered artistic by handpainted walls and sculptures, is highly conducive to social butterflying, rockin' out to live music or DJs, or just drinking and having a blast. On most nights you can see the best bands the Tri-Counties have to offer, ranging from pop to hard rock to ska. Complete with two full bars, six pool tables, and a couple of dart boards thrown in, Nicholby's creates diversion for almost any kind of folk. Its party time
I have only been to Nicholby's once, but i had a great time. I can't remember if it was the alcohol or the band that was so electrifying, but i swear i was the best dancer in the house, at least in my own mind. The crowd was packed on this weekend night, making it difficult to walk around at times without bumping into someone.....a good thing a good portion of the time. Lots of hotties roaming around, as well as some hags. Quite a few were good to go if you know what i mean. This is definitely the place you want to go if you want to hook up for the night...at least for the under 30 crowd. Older drewling dogs would be better guarenteed at at Bombay Bar and Grill, around the corner.

The club layout is good and the DJ's very good but the people sucked and could not dance. In fact they were so into their beer that they could not bother to get off their butts and dance until after 11 PM!

WELL I BEEN TO NICHOLBY'S ONCE AND I GOT SO FADED I THREWUP ALL OVER THE PLACE! RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE BAR!!! BUT SINCE THEN I HAVENT GONE BACK. I FEEL SORRY FOR WHO EVER HAD TO CLEAN UP AFTER ME!!!!!!!!!LOL ITS COO THOUGH
A quick-no-plans get away.
Coming from a military life, and moving around so much allows me to appreciate the differences in people and life styles. This is why I enjoyed this night club. It has diverse personalities and a high range of ages. I particularly enjoy the dance music and the good looking people. It is an easy place to fit in and feel comfortable eventhough you might have never been there. It has a smoking launge for the cold nights, a fair size bar, pool tables, good size dancing floor and plenty of seats to sit.
