Rate and Write a Review The image you get from its name probably isn't too far from reality, but the Tractor Tavern has much more of an alternative edge than anything you'd find greased up on the farm. Located in the heart of Old Ballard, the Tractor has long been recognized for hosting one of the most energized live shows around. Five to seven nights a week, nationally touring and local acts take to the Tractor stage, which is probably one of the most intimate, face-to-face platforms in Seattle. Although most performers tend to be rooted in traditional folk-rock and alt-country, the Tractor often showcases other genres, including anything from rockabilly to Celtic. And depending on the night's featured artist, patrons can range from line-dancing parents to crowd-moshing punks. Either way, half of the fun of the Tractor is just how laid-back the whole scene is. Miles from the razzle-dazzle of downtown, you can pretty much do (and wear) anything you want. Here's to rockin' out to music without the attitude.
