The "flower lady" in question is owner and designer Vivian Darst. She has managed to turn a small, oddly shaped storefront on a busy Eastlake corner into a lush, cozy flower shop. She's filled it with seasonal and tropical flowers, a wide assortment of plants and a small but good selection of greeting cards and Northwest gifts. During business hours, the flowers bloom from buckets on the street, making like a mini Dutch flower market in the middle of urban Seattle. The great selection and reasonable prices make this a wonderful spot to stop for a quick bouquet on your way to dinner. Darst is also a full-service florist who can help with arrangements for weddings and special occasions.
