Rate and Write a Review If the Seattle rain has you longing for more temperate climes, but your budget won't permit an island-hop, stop into this Wallingford shop for the next best thing. Hawaii General Store and Gallery is bursting with everything you need to ward off the chill and let the island sunshine in. Owner and Honolulu native Gail Stringer stocks the largest selection of aloha shirts in the Northwest. She also carries fresh, handmade orchid leis (they arrive weekly, so be sure to call), Hawaiian barbecue sauces and a full selection of traditional Hawaiian music. This is also the place to find that essential "Got Poi?" T-shirt, koa frames, crack seed (Hawaiian seed, dried and soaked in salt) and all sorts of macadamia nut treats. Gorgeous Hawaiian quilts are a store specialty because island dreaming can only do so much to keep you warm this far north. The store holds classes in quilting, lei making and can help you plan the perfect luau. Browsing is encouraged, and all are greeted with a hearty "Aloha!"
