The Hopvine is one of those places where you go out to just Âgrab a drink with a friend and before you know it you have closed down the joint because youÂve had so much fun you completely lost track of time.
This cozy little pub tucked away on 15th Ave serves a nice selection of beer and wine and boasts a small but scrumptious and surprisingly healthy menu. (You wonÂt find any fried food here!) My personal favorites are the Garlic Knots. I must warn that they are strong, not for those who plan on kissing anyone at the end of the night! (Unless of course you have shared the knots, then you both with have the death breath.)
The crowd: Attractive people of all ages, but seems to hover the most around the 30-somethings.
The upside: All of the food has a very fresh and healthy feel/taste to it. The wait staff are all very warm and welcoming. They have perfect booths built for two and two picnic tables outside that are in a great location for people watching. There is a separate smoking section
The downside: Wednesday open mic night is always crowded to the rafters. They donÂt allow anyone under 18 (so no kids). The outside tables are usually full until closing on the nicer evenings; they seem to be reserved for the Âcool kidsÂ.
