As far as museum bars go, EMP's Liquid Lounge has got to be one of the busiest around. Tucked in an upstairs corner above the Turntable Restaurant, the bar overlooks the lobby and parts of the building's unique warped-sheet metal facade that has locals split on whether it's a hideous eyesore or a modern and stylish addition to the Seattle Center complex. A lengthy bar, scattered tables and concrete support columns with flat screen TVs showing anything from sports to rock star slide shows make up the decor, while the recorded music runs the gamut from top 40 to hip-hop, club to classic rock. Keeping with Experience Music Project's mission, the bar hosts live music Tuesdays through Saturdays and never charges a cover. Tuesday nights pack out with industry types for DJs and drink specials like the house Cosmopolitan (dubbed the "Purple Haze," of course) from 9PM to 2AM. -- JP
