Rate and Write a Review Always hailed for its alternative, gender-bending devotees, this underground Seattle favorite has almost fallen into cult-club status with its eccentric, loyal following. When the initial intimate domain expanded to reveal an even larger dance floor and stage, the amount of energy -- and patrons -- grew to turn the Re-bar into more of a re-club. Often hosting some of the most kinetic offbeat dance parties around, the DJs spin an eclectic mix of anything from hip-hop, dance and punk, to glam rock, new wave and Brit pop -- depending on the night. Popular gay-themed staples -- male-dominated Flammable and chick-friendly Pandora's Box -- prove to be some of Re-bar's strongest and longest-running favorites, while newer table-turning experiments such as Phatso Phridays and Rehab on Thursdays are slowly making a well-recognized name for themselves with devoted clubbers. Local theater productions Greek Active and Queercore frequently present some of the most hilarious camp comedy in Seattle on the Re-bar stage -- often with homosexual-infused adaptations of classic plays. -- Ryan Simantel
