The University Inn is located just a block or two from many of the University of Washington's dorms, about five to 10 blocks from the main campus and just a stone's throw from University Way, or "the Ave" as the college kids call it. This clean, brightly furnished and reasonably priced hotel is the perfect answer to that most troubling of college dilemmas -- where to put the parents when they hit town. The Inn may fall short in style -- rooms aren't especially spacious and many lack bathtubs. The management makes up for it with hospitality; local phone calls are free and the complimentary breakfast is first-rate. There's plenty of shopping and sightseeing in the area, and visitors will get a good feel for college life. -- Kate Mulhern
