Considered one of the top zoos in the country, Woodland Park Zoo is home to over 300 animal species and 1,000 plant species. Animals are featured in naturalistic settings, grouped in bio-climatic zones. The tropical rainforest showcases frogs, snakes and a feathered parade of rare birds. On the Northern Trail, you'll find Northwest animals and birds, and at Bug World, there are plenty of creepy critters. The African Village offers an in-depth look at the culture, dwellings, animals and habitats of Africa. In the Savannah viewing area, you'll see zebras, giraffes and pata monkeys. Lions roam in a nearby separate enclosure, so they won't eat their neighbors. Be patient, these mammals show themselves at their leisure.

Great Zoo. Wish some more exhibits were enclosed or covered with the weather. Some attractions not open due to remodeling

Grew up going to this zoo. It's great! Went to the San Diego zoo a while ago and was very disappointed - no comparison with Woodland Park!

If you are going with hungry children remember that none of the food vendors accept check or credit cards.
