The SceneSituated off a cobblestone alley marking the end of Pike Street, Il Bistro offers intimacy amid the bustling market. Curvy entryways, discreetly placed tables and low lighting contribute to the seductive ambience. Service is swift and polite. The FoodRack of lamb has been the signature dish since day one, and it justly deserves recognition. To start the evening, a tantalizing sauté of calamari with basil, tomatoes, garlic and red wine vinegar is impressive. Among pastas, the Conchigilia (angel hair pasta in a champagne cream with asparagus and tomatoes, topped with seared scallops) is a winner. Meats and seafood receive respectful, simple treatments: Chicken breast roasted with garlic, imported olives and oregano and balsamic-drizzled king salmon served aside a bed of arugula offer worthy alternatives to lamb. Dessert caps off the evening--the chef's signature tiramisu arrives moist and decadent while the silky panna cotta is easily devoured within seconds.

Ambiance, Great - Attitude, Horrific ...
By GAMigliuri on 07/05/2008
... and the food is mediocre ... Tourists who come to Seattle may love this place but after you visit Italy and any other premier Italiano restaurant in town, you will never go back to this pretentious, over-priced joke of a 'One of the best Italian restaurants in Seattle.' The worst of part of the experience was a snooty waiter and even nastier maître’d. What they lack in culinary authenticity they finish off with poor customer service and a holier than thou attitude. Unbelievable RUDE. Think twice before you put yourself though a very unpleasant experience. Go to Osteria la Spiga for the real thing and a fantastic wait staff with a wonderful wine list and recommendations.

What a great place to dine, it is the most amazing atmosphere for a romantic evening! The food was so delicious, you must try those Mussels you can just drink the juice from it! I can't wait to invite all my friends and family to Il Bistro. I recommend calling ahead of time and setting up a reservation!

New Favorite!!

Celebrated our anniversary last night. Service, food, wine was some of the best. Antipasto, Caesar, lasagna and beef tenderloin you can cut with a fork! It is nice to go to a restaurant and be served with professionalism (ask for Robyn). One of the best, Salute!

We have eaten at Il Bistro several times since the new owner took over in Nov 04. We recommend it to all our friends. It is friendly, fun, and above all has great food.
