Just around the block from IKEA, you'll find this Chinese restaurant anchoring the Great Wall Shopping Mall. As its name suggests, the seafood here should be sampled, as should the Peking duck; even the lobster is not outrageously priced. Many feel that the Garden has the best dim sum in the area, and forego the regular menu for an inexpensive, fun meal of nibbles like dumplings bursting with lobster or shrimp. Starters include braised shark's fin soup, and vegetarians will love the sauted snow peas and lily bulbs with scallops. There is a private dining room that can accommodate 50, and wedding banquets and large parties are often held here in the summer. -- Amy DeZellar

Not bad for being in Kent ...
By andersentreerod1 on 11/17/2009
Food quality is a little above average, but I do knock them down for spotty service. The cooking style here is close to what you would find in Hong Kong. Their selection of Dim Sum is rather limited and the cost is a little high when compared to restaurants in Seattle's International District. For instance, Ocean City in Seattle can have some 20 different Dim Sum dishes to choose from, but when I was at Imperial Garden there was only about 9 dishes available. But again, this is Kent and there isn't a lot of competition here, okay, okay there is always Renton.

Reality doesn't live up 2 hype
By ibdc on 05/06/2007
Went today at about 2PM and, while the DIm Sum was pretty fresh, the flavors were a bit bland and not particulary good. This is to say that it wasn't bad, but it just wasn't very good. The Seattle International District haunts are a little better, but this place suffers from NO Competition-itis! Plus the prices were a bit high, given the quality and the taste. A place like this wins because it is the ONLY place in town. Sorry, not impressed!

Best chinese in the state
By wehopeitsmud on 01/03/2007
It's an odd restaurant to go to, but the quality can't be denied. There is NO place I'd rather go for chinese, and no one stacks up to their menu or Dim Sum. Just be prepared to wait a long time for your check xD
