The moment you step into the Metropolitan Grill, you know you have entered a classic steakhouse. Guests enter through tall mahogany doors to be greeted by tuxedo clad Maitre D?s. Cuts of beef are showcased in a glass display in the front entryway. Framed photographs of celebrities, sports heroes and local politicians, all frequent visitors to The Met, line the walls. At the Metropolitan Grill, the focus is on the Prime beef, American and Japanese Wagyu. Steaks are seared over the high heat of the ?Iron Wood of the World,? imported mesquite charcoal, ensuring the most tender, juicy steaks available. Metropolitan Grill Chefs personally select each cut that is served to guests. The Metropolitan Grill?s award-winning wine list showcases the definitive steakhouse selection of premium West Coast red wines, with special emphasis on Cabernets, Merlots and Meritage.

Simply the best!

The Met sets the standard for top quality steakhouses. The service is top notch and if you don't like the steaks, well...you just don't like steak. This place is world-class and you won't find better anywhere on the West Coast. The prices reflect the overall quality and the entire experience is well worth the expense. I must also add that the Met bar is stocked with common and exotic libations for any taste and the ambiance is friendly, casual and warm.

Hot Spot even on a rainy day
By sahara07 on 06/10/2005
...that was the case when my husband and I, with our (2) boys decided to spend a rainy mother's day at The Met Grill last month. Fantastic food and excellent service!!! Sure it's pricey, but it's all worth it. The steaks were great and the calamari, the best we've ever tasted. The best thing though is that we didn't feel uneasy having a toddler with us...the staff was so helpful, friendly and courteous. Great valet parking also. We'll surely be back.

OVER RATED? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!

The food is one thing, (outstanding) but what makes the MET the place to go is the people. The fist time my wife and I went there, I was astonished at the service. I've eaten all over the US and outside of the US, and I've never felt more at home than I do at the MET. The staff makes you feel like family, not just a client spending money. Every time we go there its the same, warm and friendly. To us, it's CHEERS!!!!! G&L B
