In ShortIts reputation is based on a New York-style crust topped with nothing more than tomato sauce and mozzarella. Seasonal pies make use of fresh local toppings like pears, portobellos and asparagus. Comfortable, loud and sometims hectic, the slab concrete floors, exposed ductwork and high ceilings add up to a boisterous, young-at-heart experience. Slices and salads are available, or order a whole pie to share.

Terrific pizza
By jimmyoshida on 01/07/2006
The pizza had fresh ingredients and a nice garlicky sauce. The crust was a bit doughy but not like a bakery style crust. I had the pizza delivered to my hotel. The order taker was courteous. The pizza came as promised and HOT!

Not what it used to be!!!
By frogguy on 01/02/2006
I recently visited Pagliacci in Kenmore (one of the satelites) and was really disappointed! I first experienced Pagliacci in 1980 when I just moved here from New York City, and had found it just about the closest to East Coast pizza. Home made crust, not that frozen stuff made in Oregon , real fresh ingredients , not over stuffed, but delicate blends of tastes, not overpowered by all that tomatoe taste and artificial cheeses. But they got too big and their satellite stores Do Not carry on the same quality standards which made the original famous for over two decades. The crust was doughy , under cooked .The ingredients , the sausage meats was very salty, the onions were raw. We had ordered a "Brooklyn Bridge" and it took over 35 minutes to get our large pizza, yet the store wasn't even crowded. We were the first to arrive , yet three tables were served before us! All in all we were VERY disappointed!
