The East Bank Emporium Restaurant is located in downtown South Bend overlooking the St. Joseph River, Century Center, Island Park and the East Race Waterway, a popular kayaking spot. Open since 1980, the multilevel restaurant resides in the Emporium building which served as a tavern in the early 1900s. The back bar from that tavern now serves the same purpose in the Emporium Restaurant. After years of vacancy, the building was meticulously restored in 1979. The grand staircase, deacon's bench and oak doors with leaded, beveled-glass windows came from old churches. Lunches feature a salad bar, quiches, croissant sandwiches, burgers, pita pockets and various hot entrees. For dinner, choose from one of three cuts of prime rib, prime rib with shrimp, lobster tail, chicken or filet mignon, a variety of seafood and steak entrees, burgers, and pasta.

Disappointed

What a mistake. I had read that this was suppose to be the best steak place in So Bend. Our party of 4 had all different meals and they all were very disappointing. Even the baked potatoes were bad. My medium filet was dry and tasteless. The only good thing about our dinners was that the mgr. gave us half off on our bill.

I have been over to there and I did not feel safe in the lot at all. there are a lot of people around with no where to go

I use to love Emporium Not now the food was not that good the service was not good I really won't go back we have too many restaurant to go to that are really good this is not one of them

Went to Emporium Last night we were going to a concert Got there at 6:00 order our food around 6:15 we didn't get our food till 7:20. When we finally got the food The steak that was order well was done rare and we really did not have time to send it back for another one and the manager did give the steak free however the right thing would of been to pick up the whole ticket. We saw other talbe come and go and we were still waiting. We will never go back
