A lively setting, expert service and an innovative menu are the hallmarks that have made the LaSalle Grill a success since it opened in 1991. Then menu encompasses flavors from around the world, emphasizing grilled fare. Start off with chardonnay and grilled simmered escargots, roasted garlic and black-pepper risotto, an Asian- spiced crab cake, Italian smoked salmon bruschetta or Cajun alligator chowder. Entrees feature hardwood-grilled New Zealand rack of lamb, New York strip steak, farm-raised ostrich, Atlantic salmon, roasted-garlic sauteed walleyed pike, grilled breast of Amish chicken, cinnamon- crusted mahimahi and pan-seared double breast of Indiana duckling. The restaurant, recognized for its wine list, offers one or two wine suggestions with each entree on the menu. For dessert, there's molten chocolate cake with watermelon sorbet, creme brulee, a house-made cookie sampler and An English Treat, which includes a glass of port, accompanied by seasonal fruits, fine cheese and nuts.
