If you've got a constant craving for the mild, sweet flavor of Cuban home-style cooking, there's no place like David's Cafe. It's a dream come true for early birds and those for those of us who like to stay up all night -- it's actually open 24 hours. Although it may be known for serving up some of Miami's best Cuban coffee, the food gives you a lot to write home about. If you're stopping in for breakfast, ask for the huevos con jamon revuelto or scrambled eggs with diced ham, Cuban toast and cafe con leche (don't forget to dip your toast in the coffee.) For lunch, try the steak or the midnight sandwich with a tall glass of David's natural, freshly squeezed juices. Try the mouthwatering ropa vieja habanera, delicate strands of beef sauteed in Spanish olive oil and served in an aromatic sauce. Sample the camarones enchilados; succulent shrimp in a tangy tomato sauce. Don't even think about going home without topping your meal with one of David's delicious desserts like the flan or tres leches. The service is outstanding inside, but it if you're looking for a quick coffee fix at its open-air counter, be patient and do a lot of smiling. --Raisa Romaelle

THIS IS THE ONLY CUBAN RESTAURANT WORTH GOING IN MIAMI BEACH, IT HAS QUALITY AND GOOD SERVICE WITHOUT THE TREMANDOUS PRICE PREMIUMS YOU EXPECT IN THE AREA

Nice little neighborhood-style bar. Usually male dominated, but when I've met some of my friends there, I (as lesbian) have always been well received. A bunch of really nice guys hang out there. In fact, I don't think I've ever had to buy my own drink there, and nobody is expecting me to go home with them. My girlfriend calls this place "relaxing" and had much rather spend an evening there than at Sue Ellen's or Buddies.
