Ever since South Miami got hip to the idea of sidewalk seating, this neighborhood favorite tripled in traffic. Always ideal for excellent, fresh lunches, Deli Lane, with its outdoor sidewalk addition under a shady awning, has become a breakfast and brunch hot spot for locals looking to linger at a table for a leisurely meal and scenic sidewalk activity. Eggs Benedict, smoked salmon, omelets, fruit salads and pancakes are top-notch here. The service is efficient, but laid-back, just like the clientele. If you're looking for quick service and no scenery, go to McDonald's, because part of Deli Lane's allure is its relaxed pace. Two of the cafe's must-have breakfast items are the fruit salad (with signature honey-yogurt dressing and fresh muffin) and the cheese grits. -- Lesley Abravanel

A Deli Lane in every city
By chasfinchiii on 04/25/2006
There should be a Deli Lane in every city. Simply a great and affordable place to eat breakfast. Omelets and fruit pancakes are the best choices on the menu. Cheese grits too. Get there before 9 am, though, especially on weekends. The place fills up, inside and out. Bring your newspaper if you like. Dog walkers love to go there because they can sit outside. Try it, you'll like it...

First I Land, Then I Eat
By genemean on 12/23/2005
I fly into Miami about once a month. I make it my business to get there the night before, so I get a chance to eat at Deli Lane for breakfast. Their breakfast special is about $4 and includes, great grits, eggs, bacon or other meat, as well as toast. You can't beat the price, the ambience of sidewalk dining in the morning and watching the cute women exercising nearby or going to work. The only issue I have is not with the restaurant, but with the Miami culture of customers bringing their dogs with them to dine outside. I have no desire to eat with an animal (no matter how cute the owner thinks it is) near me or my food. Again, this is a habit at almost all restaurants with a street patio. Taylor from Atlanta
