El Pub, has been a Calle Ocho landmark for more than 40 years. The decor of this neighborhood eatery definitely has a political vibe to it. Along an entire wall there's a map of Cuba with postcards and poetry by Jose Marti and throughout the space there is lots of pre-1959/pre-Castro Cuban memorabilia. But politics aside, El Pub has remained popular because it serves delicious, affordable and authentic Cuban food. Try a classic Cuban sandwich (roast pork, Serrano ham, Swiss cheese, pickles and mustard on Cuban bread) or dig in to heavier staples such as palomilla steak (skirt steak) with rice and beans and arroz con pollo (yellow rice and chicken). Of course, no Cuban meal would be complete without something sweet (the flan here is heavenly) and the essential espresso shot.

Owned and operated by the same owner as El Exquisito, which is just a few steps away from El Pub, the food is great, decor oozes Cubanismo, but it's just slightly more expensive then it's sister restaurant El Exquisito. I suggest to try both places, they wont disappoint.
