This small, unassuming restaurant in the heart of Little Havana is neither chic nor stylish. Unless, of course, you find mirrored wine racks, wooden captain chairs and faux brick wall murals the ultimate in hip. Simply put, there's only one reason to come to Exquisito (Spanish for exquisite) and thats the food. Sure, there are tons of Cuban restaurants in Miami, but this one stands apart. Voted Best Cuban Food by several local pubs, the Coro family promises a delicious and extremely cheap meal. Start things off with breakfast (served from 7-10:30AM) with your choice of fried or scrambled eggs; ham, bacon or sausage; toast and cafe con leche (espresso with steamed milk) all for under $2. As for lunch or dinner, you can't go wrong with their famous bistec de palomilla (Cuban steak); it's served with plenty of onions, a side of white rice and black beans and French fries or fried plantains, for about $7. Be sure to check out the daily specials, most of which are under $5, including fricase de pollo (chicken fricase) on Wednesdays and picadillo (ground beef) on Thursdays and Saturdays. -- Marivi Iglesias

A True Gem
By YoungUrbanCuban on 07/25/2008
Nested dead smack in the middle of Little Havna, El Exquisito has been a long time staple within the Cuban community serving traditional Cuban food. Hands down their Cuban sandwich is the best you'll ever have, prepared as it should be with hand sliced serrano ham using the correct bread which is French bread and not Cuban bread which most believe is the bread used in a traditional Cuban sandwich. I suggest to try their " Pollo Relleno ", chicken stuffed with ham and cheese,it's pure heaven!

Not only this restaurant has great food but has a great Cuban atmosphere. Every table has a picture of a different beautiful sight of the island, they keep art work from different artist on their walls and the waiters are very good. Great for breakfast, lunch and dinner.!!!
