No, this isn't your father's all-American diner with the '50s music blasting, tacky plastic Elvis sculptures and waitresses on roller skates -- perhaps the only things they share are the tiled floors and ice cream floats. Besides, have you ever heard of a diner serving brunch with mimosas? Indeed! Though you will be dining with a yuppie crowd, and the prices are going to be markedly higher than let's say, Denny's, you can still dress casual and expect to partake in good ol' comfort food... with a twist. If you didn't come for the flapjacks, signature turkey meatloaf, or Monte Cristo, take our advice: bank on a burger. The 10 oz. Chuck hamburger or turkey burger comes with lettuce chiffonade (Doesn't that sound fancy? It's a nice way to say 'thinly sliced'), a slice of tomato, red onions and pickles on a brioche. Or, try the Holy Smoke cheeseburger with crispy onions, cheddar, apple wood-smoked bacon and a smoky apricot barbecue sauce.
