Tourists and locals line up for lunch and dinner at this tiny restaurant and the taste of down-home Southern comfort is definitely worth the wait. Wonderful smells escape from the exposed kitchen that takes up one wall of the restaurant; follow your nose and watch the chefs prepare your order. The menu is simple and dependable. Portions are generous, and most entrees include a side dish. Barbecue rules here, with chicken sharing top billing with meaty slabs of ribs. The house sauce is thick and sweet, but there are several other varieties for experimentation. Burgers, salads and soups are available for the more fastidious eaters in the crowd. Thinly sliced fried sweet potatoes, the house specialty and namesake, are available as a side dish or a platter.

On flavor! On texture!
By Bratonbrat on 07/28/2008
Curious about Mr. Below Par's comments (below), I went and had a chat with the chef - what do managers know anyhow. No, the ribs are not boiled.... Semantics (?) perhaps, but (!!), according to the chef, they "are placed in a tightly sealed container with a limited amount of water, just enough to create a steam, into which their natural flavor is released - combining nicely with ...." and then he caught himself and stopped, saying that if he went on, he'd have to kill me. Haha. I hurried back to my table... And had barely enough room for a slice of Key Lime Pie!! Mmmmmmmm No secrets here..... On Flavor! On texture! Everything here is absolutely Right On! But what do I know.......... :)

Miss. Sweets barbecue is below par
By Maishlozer on 06/27/2008
I refer to the Boynton location. I am what can be considered a barbecue rib afficinado, but have to say that Miss. Sweets does not serve great ribs, in fact their ribs are below par. I confronted the manager when they were in Lake Worth and accused him of boiling the ribs before putting them on the grill. He admitted such as a fact, and I then told him that the off-flavor and texture of the riibs was what tipped me off.
