Most are already familiar with Darden Restaurant concepts like Olive Garden and Red Lobster, and you probably enjoy their casual, family dining ambience. Now, for those with a higher budget who are looking for a fancier place to dine, Darden Restaurant's award-winning Season's 52 concept, which originated in Orlando, offers a constantly varied menu based on the seasons, hence the name. Striving to follow the National Institute of Health guidelines, every item on the menu is under 475 calories. The Fort Lauderdale store is the fourth anchor restaurant in the upscale Galleria Mall. Micah Willix, Executive Chef, brings experience from his training at Johnson & Wales and Mark's of Las Olas among others to help create entrees such as the large oak-grilled seascallops (450 calories) with fresh asparagus & sun-dried tomato orzo, or tamarind-glazed turkey & Vidalia onion skewers (461 calories) astride wild rice, autumn vegetables & apple chutney. Delectable desserts include the original blueberry lemon cheesecake and carrot cake with rum raisin sauce.
