The crust is thin and ultra-crisp at Frankie's Pizza -- like all good New Yorkers prefer it --but it's the flavorful olive oil zing that makes this pizza so popular. There are toppings aplenty to please both carnivores and veggie lovers, and the double cheese and the black olive options are favorites. Scarf some of Frankie's garlic rolls, renowned in these parts. Smothered with butter and pungent chunks of garlic, they are a great (if filling) prologue to a hearty slice. Frankie's only drawback? You can't nosh your chow on the premises: This is a strictly take-out and delivery joint. Nonetheless, it's been hailed as one of the best pies in the Sunshine State by enthusiastic reviewers at Miami Metro Magazine, South Florida Magazine, The New Times and Bon Appetit. -- Rebecca Stropoli

The best 5 star pizza in South Florida
By whiteeagle17 on 12/11/2008
I have been going to Frankies since the 60's. We would sit in the parking lot, and have a tailgate party twice a week. Their quality pizza has remained the same all these years. The best in South Florida, You have to try this one once, and you will always come back. Now everytime I buy one there to eat, I take 2 half baked home for later. Dont change a thing. I rate this pizza 5 stars all the way

Best Pizza Around!!
By LMichele827 on 07/02/2008
I've been coming to Frankie's since I was a little girl; my parents since before I was born (I'm 22). This place has got to have THE BEST pizza in the world. This should have had a spot on Gail's (Oprah's friend) "Top Pizza Restaurant's in the US" show. It still tastes the same today as it did years ago and the people there are just so sweet. I def. recc. getting a half-baked on your way to SoFla.

Been going there since the early 60s

I love Frankie's. I live in Palm Beach County now, and every time I visit my family in Homestead, we stop on the way home and pick up five or six Frankie's pies to take home. He was a wonderful man and we miss him, but his great family is keeping up the tradition of excellent pizza.

The best, for decades!
By FBCOMPTON on 05/31/2008
Our garage band in the rockin' sixties made this a regular stop, to visit with Frankie and his daughter - she was "Miss Tall Florida" . Bird Road was a great cruisin' street in Miami, like in the movie "American Graffitti". Frankie has passed, but the new owners have seemlessly carried on the tasty thin crust, square pizza tradition. I now live in Texas and when I visit Miami, picking up a pizza at Frankie's is always a priority stop. Call ahead to order and avoid the wait -- rermember it is take-out only. Now you can get a "half-baked" pizza delivered anywhere in the USA. See the website: www.frankiespizzaonline.com Glider Burt
