No Miami dining experience is complete without the requisite visit to Joe's Stone Crab, an old-school, yet up-scale, seafood restaurant that has practically monopolized the stone-crab market by reeling in the biggest and best of this South Florida delicacy. There's only one thing to know before going: Joe's accepts no reservations, so you'll likely wait for a table upwards of three hours, unless you grease the palms of the Sopranos-esque hosts with some stone cold cash. Once you've scored that highly coveted table, feast on the house specialty -- stone crabs (choose medium, 'select,' or large) and select a delicious side dish such as garlic-creamed spinach or homemade homefries. When not in a crabby nood, other dinner options like coconut shrimp and certified Angus steaks are equally staisfying. Each year, the quality and breadth of the wine list grows under chef Andre Bienvenu's supervision, but no meal at Joe's is complete without a slice of the famous key lime pie. After waiting hours to eat here, you might as well reward yourself.

Had the crab legs. Best I ever had. Expensive but incredible. And you have to get the key lime pie.

#1 Seafood in the #1 City for Seafood

Joe's remains the epitome of the most elegant, old-school, extraordinary menued restaurant in South Beach. With their top stone crabs, chowders and bisques, home-made rolls, and garlic spinach, they are worth the money, and manifest a style of dining that is an anachronism. Excellent food, attentive staff, and a place to enjoy, or see and be seen by the high attendance of local movie and TV stars. A wonderful experience!
