Benjamin's Cafe is a full-service restaurant where the owners like to say they spoil you. In this case it's true, especially if you have a hankering for the foods of yesteryear. Thick milkshakes, fresh-cut fries and fast-and-friendly service make Benjamin's Cafe feel like it has been transported from another time and place. Homemade soups, pies, breads and cinnamon rolls don't hurt, either. All burgers are made with 100 percent extra-lean meats, so you won't feel too guilty when you order up your teenage meal of a burger, fries and a shake. Benjamin's also serves hearty breakfasts, including French toast, flapjacks, eggs and home fries. In addition, the place does a pretty nice take-out business with locals.

ALAS NO MORE BENJAMINS...:>((
By fran41735 on 08/12/2007
BENJAMIN'S IS GONE AND IN IT'S PLACE IS NOW A RESTAURANT CALLED MERITAGE. JUST LIKE THE ORPHEUM THEATER WHICH SAT WHERE THE FOUNTAIN IS BETWEEN BENJAMIN'S AND RITE AID, ALL GOOD THINGS DIE AND ARE GONE FOREVER. MERITAGE'S ADVERTISEMENTS MAKE IT SOUND TOO PRICY FOR ME AND I DOUBT IF THEY COULD REPLACE THE AMBIENCE OF BENJAMINS. BET THEY DON'T SPOIL YOU EITHER. I WON'T EVEN TRY THEM TO SEE BECAUSE I DON'T LIKE CHANGE.

Horrible!!
By bagmeillsetya2 on 03/13/2007
I have never had food this greasy in my entire life. I am from the deep south and I love my fish, but I was thoroughly disappointed. I watched the cook and she pulled the fish out every minute to look to see if it was cooked. Needless to say, it was a horrible experiance.

Not the best, but very good
By arvig on 02/04/2007
It's not the best, and it is going to be greasy food..knock off a star if you can't handle such. But...if you like your burgers lard laden, your fries tasting as much like cooking oil as a potato...this place is for you! One can even order a side of pure bacon fat, delicious indeed! I dunk my burgers into the bacon fat personally. Fridays, they deep fry the burgers in egg batter...imagine having a cheeseburger Monte Cristo style! Excellent food for the lardbutt in us all!
