Enjoy a stout and a bit of Pennsylvanian history at one of the oldest bars in the Centre County area. Built in 1819, Duffys is believed to have been a tavern for gentry traveling along the Kings Highway. Although partially destroyed by fire in 1934, the tavern is still recognized as an important, historic American building. The original 22-inch stone walls keep the tavern at a comfortable temperature even during exceptionally hot summer days. The old cash drawer is also still visible beneath the bar cupboard in the main room. In addition to Guinness and Murphys on tap, Duffys offers a selection of imported and domestic microbrews like Sam Adams, Spaten and Penn Brewery. Weekday happy hours often feature half-price domestic drafts, the perfect complement to the menu of bar food favorites.

That defines Duffy's. Having eaten there several times, and, once upon a time, having sprung for a wedding reception dinner there, I can say that in every aspect (menu selection, wine list, service, variety) Duffy's is great!
