For those who aren't native to St. Louis, many here still call the team that plays at Busch stadium "the baseball Cardinals." It seems redundant to transplants. But there used to be a "football Cardinals" as well. While the football team left town many years ago a few of the retired players remained. Long story short -- a couple of those guys opened a few steakhouses. Dan Dierdorf (offensive tackle and now in the Hall of Fame) and Jim Hart (quarterback) at one time had three restaurant locations. Now there are two, one downtown and one at West Port. Both locations feature dark wood, which gives a touch of age to relatively new construction. Huge cuts of red meat are the specialty, so the clientele is predominately male, and mostly business types. Appetizers include Forest's friend Bubba's favorites: shrimp cocktail, BBQ shrimp, and sauteed shrimp. Entrees feature filets, strips, and chops of oversized and aged certified Angus beef. -- HW

The streaks are outstanding, but they should be for the $$$ you pay. Sides are ok but should be better for what you pay, nice wine list. Too dark

Don't waste your time or your money. This money is all about these actor's vanities. The sequel should be avoid at all costs. It should have never been made. People expected more and got nothing but having to look at people making a fool out of themselves and us for having to look at them do it or rather stick it to us morons who lowered ourselves to go see it. Ba Hum Bug, what a waste of money. Boring is the only word to descrbie this horrible movie.

I was fairly impressed. The staff was accomodating and the food was very good. I feel a bit sorry for the young man who presented the various cuts of meat at our table. The tray was surely every bit as heavy as it looked! The waiter who kept resting his knuckles on our table was a non plus, however. Though the service needed a bit of polish, they were very eager to please. A few pointers: If you prefer your beef cooked medium, order it medium-well. When this place says "rare", they mean it! Not a place you want to take a date whom you're iffy about seeing again (as I did) because you'll look at the bill and later say to yourself "Why did I do that?" Also, no matter how gosh darned cute she looks in her jeans-n-sweater combo, you'll want to ask her to wear something a bit less informal (as I didn't). Also, ask to sit away from the bar which can, at times, be a bit too noisy. Overall I enjoyed my experience there and would recommend D&H's to anyone.
