Built in 1985, the Embassy received a $4.5 million makeover in August 1999. Located on historic Lacleade's Landing, you'll find lots to do in the area including casino action, carriage rides, specialty shops and restaurants. March 2001 marks the opening of the hotel's St. Louis Fish Market, an upscale casual restaurant with fresh seafood flown in daily. All suites feature either a king bed or two doubles. The living room comes with a sleeper sofa. Other amenities include microwave, fridge, coffee maker, and two TVs with pay-per-view movies. You may want to request a room facing the river and landing as these have the best views. Special packages available online or through the reservation desk. -- Jason Smith
