Great Service/Amazing Rolls
By phatcarvinbass3 on 02/02/2007
Me and my girlfriend do the usual sushi hopping with the list of favorites. I would give this sushi restaurant a 5 star rating but the atmosphere is lacking. Our waitress has always been kind attentive and very professional. The rolls are magnificent. Granted, there are some rolls I like that i find other places, but their extensive menu makes up for it. I go to I Love Mr. Sushi when i am looking for a good roll, and may look elsewhere for the "sushi bar" atmosphere. I would give this a 9 if the rating was out of 10

Good sushi, good price
By bizarrogurrly on 07/26/2006
I came here for my first sushi experience with a very sushi-savvy friend on 7/25/06. We split a caterpillar roll, an eel cucumber roll, a Mr. Sushi roll, and a vegetable roll. I thought it was really good, having never eaten sushi before. My friend, who has been to nearly every sushi restaurant in St. Louis, also said it was really good and that the price and speed of service couldn't be beaten. Our total bill was $24.95 and our food was delivered in a matter of minutes. The staff was EXTREMELY friendly and helpful. I will definitely go back.

Different Sushi Atmosphere
By meteo7 on 05/30/2005
My dad and I, for our male bonding time, go eat sushi every weekend. We like trying different places, but ultimately have our favorites. I Love Mr. Sushi is definitely one of our favorites. You walk in and place is strangely decorated compared to other St. Louis sushi places; as one reviewer put it, it does kinda of look more like a bathroom motif. The tables are also covered in a hard plastic "cloth." As far as I am concerned the cons end there. Every time I have gone, I have had excellent service. I can honestly say that it is the best sushi in St. Louis, it tastes the freshest, they have the best tasting rolls, and they have excellent green tea. If you sit at the sushi bar, Mr. Sushi (and partners) will entertain with some singing or talking; it is really refreshing because it isn't aimed at you. If you care more about substance than glamour give this place a try. Note: don't bring your sushi-hating friends here, they have very little else.

Worst I ever had...
By llunaria on 01/01/2005
Almost on a bi-weekly event my family and friends would go out of our way to have sushi and new restaurants are always high on our list of to dos. We easily would spend at least $100 - $200+ between the few of us in just one sitting. We recently saw "I love mr.sushi" while driving by and decided to try it out after seeing a few good reviews. Bad Idea. The service was slow to almost nonexistent even though it was basically empty. Some of the fish looked unfresh, the shrimp was old, and the pieces I had eaten had a foul taste to it. The magura nigiri was cooked! Through all of my experiences I've never came across that before. The sushi rice did not hold together and with just a little touch came falling apart. The rolls were made loose, several pieces I had were only half filled, presentation was so so, and only tasted decent covered in alot of wasabi. Not long after eating sushi here I got the worse stomach pains that lasted the rest of the night. I will never recommend this place to any to anyone. The only reason that they even got a 1 star is that one person out of the group did not get sick. Price vs Taste: This place should be ashamed for charging so much for such bad food.
