Rate and Write a Review With its abbreviated name and simple 1950s diner-style decor, one would expect U-City Grill to serve up the typical greasy-spoon diner fare of burgers and fries, but surprisingly, U-City Grill serves up Korean home-cooking. Owned by an elderly Korean couple, the restaurant extended hours until 10PM so the Washington University students living nearby could grab a cheap, filling dinner (everything is under $7). As you walk in and sit yourself down at the '50s-style linoleum counter that spans the length of this converted diner, your eyes immediately drift to the large menus displayed above the grill in front of you. The menu is very simple; the restaurant sticks to what it knows best. For breakfast, it serves four different kinds of egg, bacon, pancake and sausage combinations. However, it offers the breakfast menu throughout the day, just in case you wake up around 3PM and have a hankering for eggs. For lunch and dinner, U-City Grills offers Korean fried rice, a Korean spicy beef stew, marinated beef with rice, and two other rice dishes that you would find on a typical Korean kitchen table. If you're not in the mood for Korean food, they also have an American menu listing 5-6 different simple egg and bacon-style sandwiches.
