Serving beef, chicken and seafood dishes dipped in the flavors of Mexico and the Southwest, the Blue Water Grill offers up exotic meals in downtown Kirkwood. There's nothing ordinary about the food here. They serve everything from Almond Fried Calamari to the Shellfish Blow Out. Dishes are broken down into small plates, large plates and plates for sharing. Don't miss Flying Saucers, a tapas feast that varies each week. During the week, the early evening pre-theater special consists of a quick three-course meal. Wine is also an important part of every meal, with a wine expert on staff and wine flights, a sampling of three half-glasses of wine selected by their expert. Reservations are not required, but are recommended and can be made online.

Overpriced, pretentious ripoff
By dmishem on 07/06/2008
I went there a while ago and ordered tenderloin for $18. The portion was so small I was literally able to eat it in four bites. By the time the waiter came by to ask how dinner was my plate was already empty. Of course I was offered a few $8 desserts since dinner doesn't actually fill you up. This place was busted on the news last year for selling cheap fish as an overpriced favorite. They blamed their "supplier". Right.

Delish!

The site of my first date with my husband. They even had a pre-symphony menu with outstanding choices. I have to agree that anyone who chooses Landry's, Joe's, or Red Lobster is afraid of real seafood, and have never dined here. Nor have they probably traveled to either coast. I am now in the South and their idea of "seafood" is catfish, ugh. Quite a disappointment after living in Florida for 5 years.

Simply seafood...

as the name would imply, done well. The fact that "Joe's Crab Shack" beat this out in a ratings guide say's much more about St Louis than the restaurant.
