Since it opened in 1999, Chez Leon, located in the Central West End, has been providing the area with authentic fine French dining at bistro prices. The decor is rather subdued and spacious, with wooden floors, a mirrored banquette along one wall with a shelf above for hats, and lovely French doors facing the street that are open in good weather. House specialties include sweetbreads and calf liver but the steak frites, a strip steak with twice-cooked fries, is very popular here. Always, always leave room for a perfectly light and airy souffle. Reservations are not only recommended, they are preferred. It ensures that people won't be lined up at the doors staring you down for your table; forcing table turnover isn't the method of operation here. So relax with a champagne cocktail, then linger over three courses at the $28 fixed price and enjoy. -- HW

Pleasant inviting room. Excellent menu (food and wine). Delicious food. Functional service. Perfect design and execution of the French Bistro concept. The owner is very friendly and works the room well. I will definitely go back.

The food was to die for .I recommend the appetizer of scallops in a buttery sauce. The service was superb as was the atmosphere. We sat outside because the weather was perfect as was the evening.

A Perfect Evening

You can't go wrong at Chez Leon. Leon will personally make sure of that! Great food, fine wine, friendly and attentive service. Under "Details" it says something about "Formal" - but its not really - its very comfortable. A great way to spend a relaxing evening.
