Expect to wait for a table at Chris' Pancakes & Dining, especially on Sunday mornings. Families crowd in for the pancakes, omelettes and other breakfast specialties. Chris' Pancakes & Dining is known for its breakfast, and thankfully it's served all day long. Chris' is also a late-night haunt for the Hill crowd in search of breakfast after drinks. While the typical four tops, shiny tablecloths and wooden chairs might imply an average family-style restaurant, this above-average pancake house also has adult brunch fare including mimosas, Bloody Marys, screwdrivers and specialty coffee drinks. The health-conscious will appreciate the lighter breakfast fare, such as the wheat and honey waffle and buckwheat pancakes. There are other options besides breakfast foods; on Fridays, for example, diners can chow down on all-you-can eat crab legs. Sit in the bar to watch the game, in the sunroom to escape cigarette smoke or in the main dining room for the typical pancake-house feel. -- Hillary Wicai

Hours are wrong
By CaloriesNw on 07/11/2008
Chris' pancake & dining is not a "late night" establishment. They close at 10 during the week. St. Louis is lacking good late night cuisine. Whoever wrote those hours needs to seriously update them.

Food's good.

Consistent quality. They recently changed their menu so there's a bit more variety. I like it because there are so so many regulars. What a treat to see the same people. Small town atmosphere.

The Best Pancakes
By melissah0610 on 05/19/2002
You can't beat this place for family dining just about any time of day. The pancakes are indeed wonderful, and the omelets are fluffy and tasty. You can get them made with egg beaters. They serve all-you-can-eat crab legs on Friday night that are very good. There are some Italian specialty items on the menu that are also quite good. The only thing I've had here that I didn't like was the hot veggie sandwich.
