Like most of its culinary neighbors, Favazza's specializes in classic Italian-American cuisine. But this is no ordinary, run-of-the-mill pasta house. The secrets Vito Favazza learned in his mother's St. Louis Italian kitchen are evident in every dish -- from humble, homemade lasagna to splurge-worthy steak and seafood dishes. Of course, loyal customers do have their favorites, such as the veal saltimbocca, which features tender slices of veal layered with prosciuotto and topped with provel cheese and a sauce made of white wine and sage. And seafood lovers find it hard to resist Favazza's linguini pescatore, which pairs shrimp, clams and crab with olive oil, garlic, butter sauce and mushrooms. The decadence continues with homemade desserts like tiramisu and Favazza's signature chocolate amaretto pie. Favazza's decor doesn't disappoint either. Its cozy, comfortable dining room is bathed in dark, natural wood accents. The walls and table linens are colored in shades of dessert rose, giving the room a warm, inviting glow reminiscent of an earlier, more elegant era.

Best Italian Restaurant

I was so disappointed with this restaurant. They served a basket of bread, but it was simply pre sliced white bread in a basket, not real bread, not cut at the time of service. I ordered the Steak Mudega - and I can only say I was severly disappointed. I suggest that you check the yellow pages for another italian restaurant in the area, because anyplace would be better than this. The service was simple and plain, and the food also. Sorry that this is true. I was highly disappointed.
