Thanks to the Helen's complex, there's a place to indulge in a variety of activities seven days a week in South County. It offers a casual restaurant setting inside, and though the menu is heavy on appetizers, diners can also select from plenty of pizza, burgers, steaks, pasta and seafood. The other side of the building is equal parts sports bar, pool hall and music lounge, with happy hour -- including a free appetizer buffet and beer- and well-drink specials -- running generously long hours six days a week. Tuesday through Saturday evenings local cover bands take to the stage, playing everything from classic rhythm and blues to hard rock. Air hockey, video games and electronic darts also provide entertainment, TVs are available in every direction for sports fans and even more space is provided for private parties in the banquet room.

Great Food, Great Service, Great Fun
By outforfunstl on 07/22/2008
I disagree with the guy who wrote the bad review on New Year's Day. I go to Helen's all the time and the food is always fresh, the entertainment is great and management always bends over backwards to make the customer's happy! Maybe he had a little too much to drink on New Year's Eve and there is more to management's side of the story.... They don't sell any boxed frozen food - they even make their own potato chips from scratch. The wings are awesome and it is a great place to meet fun people, the place is always jumpin'!

Poor Customer Policy
By pstvbbbly on 01/01/2007
At first it appeared to be a decent happy hour bar so I decided to try at night. I agree with the person who complained in this review about the lousy wings. On our (My wife and I) last of many visits the same was true I have had better from a frozen box from the Grocers. After complaining the punk/kid/manager forced us to pay or the police would be called. After paying the bill I attempted to complain at the door and was shoved out by four restaurant employees. We called the Sunset Hills Police who arrived and said there was a video of us at the door being shoved out. The police apologized but we would have had to press charges against five restaurant employees. We complained to management who ignored the letter. If you are willing to put up with anything just to meet people there go for it. The musical entertainment sucks at best and the prices are crazy for frozen box food.

One of my favorite places. I go early to avoid the crowds. This usually means before 5 p.m. any day. I always order the chicken strips with the wing sauce to dip in. Also would like to mention that the waitresses are excellent!
