Rate and Write a Review St. Louis has never been much for the neighborhood pizza parlor, and Imo's, a city favorite for St. Louis-style pie, has always done most of its business at any location with carry-out or delivery. Decor is mostly non-existent -- there are some locations that serve it only when it travels, going out the door with customers or drivers. The pizza itself seems to cause no ambivalence -- either you love it or you hate it. It epitomizes St. Louis-style pizza: cracker-thin crust, square pieces and provel cheese. Provel is not like your typical pizza's mozzarella, pulling into foot-long stretches, but it's a gooey, tooth-sticking singularity. The sauce is sweet-salty-tangy, generously spread. Some complain the sausage is greasy, but some say that's the nature of sausage. Salads, festooned with the cheese, are simple but not bad (except for the sweet house dressing); quite good Buffalo-style wings are popular, although apt to spoil your appetite for the pizza. The menu also has sandwiches, but the true star (besides the pizza) is another St. Louis take on an Italian classic: toasted ravioli. Native to the area, just like the provel-smothered pies, it's an amazing appetizer or full (albeit fatty) meal.
