The Nguyen family has been treating St. Louis to authentic Vietnamese food since 1998, serving up "healthy, fresh, home style cooking" from a menu that includes a myriad of vegetarian-friendly food. Guests of Lemongrass enjoy a pair of chic, streamlined dining rooms, where a little bit of art, including a couple of giant lobsters hanging on the wall, go a long way in creating an exotic experience in the otherwise very urban area of South Grand. More than 100 items grace a very inexpensive menu, including appetizers like egg rolls, crab-meat Rangoon, fried tofu and innumerable soups that work as starters or meals, while visitors can also choose from an endless array of seafood, pork, lamb and poultry-based dishes as entrees. Lemongrass counts a number of rice-baked dishes prepared in hot pots, as well as crispy chicken, crispy duck and steamed and stir-fried mussels, as specialties. Plus, unique desserts such as sweet potato flan and char grilled banana are available if you still have room.
