Tucked away amidst the houses lining Jamison Avenue is Mom's Deli, a slice of heaven for St. Louis sandwich lovers. The menu features more than 25 delicious made-to-order options, including the original Mom's Special, piled high with turkey, ham, roast beef, munchee cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onions and homemade thousand island dressing. Other favorites include the Italian salami (imported from The Hill) and the po' boy sandwiches. Potato salad, pasta salad or coleslaw tops off your meal, with Ted Drewes Frozen Custard in the freezer for dessert. Mom's also serves as a small market, selling everything from Wonder Bread to laundry detergent, and although the tiny deli isn't large enough for dine-in customers, during nice weather there's a comfortable patio outside with plenty of shaded tables. Mom's Deli has been a St. Louis favorite for years, and although it's usually crowded, the line moves quickly, the service is affable, the prices are freakishly family-friendly and it's always worth the wait.
