Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, Pop's has long been one of St. Louis' premiere late-night places to party. Just a two minute drive from downtown, Pop's impresses as a 14,000 square-foot warehouse of fun. Televised sports, pool, foosball and lots of video games provide plenty of entertainment, but the main attraction, besides the three spacious bars, is music. National headliners play regular gigs -- including the nation's best traveling tribute bands and superstars of the metal genre. There's also a steady flow of local shows. In fact, hand-picked live rock groups from the region play every evening at about midnight. The entertainment essentially never stops, as dance music allows you to get your groove on when the band's on break. Of special note is the Monday Night Mayhem local band showcase. Winners of this prestigious competition are often chosen to open for the national acts. Food is served here, but it's entirely bar food. Good thing a healthy salad won't seem like a big deal when it's late, you've been partying and you're famished. So dig in, it'll be the best thing you ever tasted.

Great Shows
By houdinii84 on 08/16/2004
I have been a Pop's regular for about a year and I have seen many great shows. It is one of the only venues on the Illinois side of the river, and the bands are great. It is rather wild, but not too bad. The fans are great, and so are the bands.

IF YOU'RE INTO A DIRTY ATMOSPHERE, LOW CLASS CLIENTELE AND BEING MANHANDLED, THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU. 4 DOLLAR PLASTIC BOTTLES OF BEER, DISGUSTING BATHROOMS, AND STRIPPERS GALORE. THIS IS THE REASON WE ALL NEED AN EDUCATION, ENLIGHTENMENT AND DISCERNING TASTE. UNLESS YOU GO FOR THIS SORT OF THING...
