This Japanese restaurant, which has been in the Central West End nearly two decades, can hardly escape a passerby's notice. The large and charming working water wheel catches your attention, making you wonder what they serve inside. The answer is gorgeous and delicate sushi, crispy tempura and tangy teriyaki. The sushi bar is for those who want to watch the chef prepare the raw fish and vegetables that, depending on the size of the order, are beautifully presented in wooden boats. Sansui also offers traditional Japanese seating and freestanding tables and chairs. The restaurant can get busy at peak hours, so be prepared to wait. Sushi lovers swear it's worth the delay. Your evening will be delicious, but not cheap -- Sansui is priced in the moderate to expensive range.
