Devotees of big juicy burgers and honking steak-cut fries make regular pilgrimages to the Fatted Calf. Many of them will also tell you that the onion rings are notable. This first-class burger joint is a favorite lunch-break for the 9-to-5 crowd in Clayton. Expect to see plenty of folks stuck on jury duty at the county court popping in here for a quick lunch between testimony. The inexpensive menu and casual, laid-back atmosphere is kid-friendly and allows customers to enjoy their charbroiled sandwiches, salads, beer and wine. St. Louis Burger Tradition
Absolutely the BEST burgers for the money. It is a shame that the Clayton one is the only place in town. I remember from my days at St.Louis U. when the "Calf" was on Lindell, that it was THE place to go for an incredible burger experience. You get a Big Burger and not something that looks like it was hit by a car.
