Rate and Write a Review With its plethora of Cuban sandwich offerings and pizza joints, Ybor Citys Latin Quarter isn't exactly the first place you'd think to look for Greek food. But once you try Acropolis' authentic Greek dishes, youll look no further. Like a little piece of Athens transported to Tampa Acropolis spins kitsch elegance on its namesake temple, with stark white walls, and decorative columns andphotos of Greek landscapes and architectural wonders hung throughout. The small but airy dining room consisting of four-tops, while large picture windows let the sun stream in. The full menu is Mediterranean to the max, with casual fare such as appetizers, salads, sandwiches and, of course, gyros (which, for the last time, is pronounced "yee-ros".) Or choose from 15 entrees including shish kebobs, Greek meatballs, Souvlaki, stuffed grapevine leaves and customer favorite, Chicken Rhodes, sauteed with Greek herbs and topped with feta cheese. Florida seafood prepared Mediterranean style with loads of lemon and olive oil is another highlight. And, in keeping, with Ybor's penchant for live entertainment and scantily-clad women, Greek musicians and belly dancers perform every Saturday.
