Mons Venus   

Maybe you've heard of it, maybe you haven't, but odds are you've seen its influence all over the Tampa Bay area. This is the strip club that other strip clubs want to be. Mons Venus, famous for "the most beautiful girls in the world," features more than 300 dancers who entertain from noon until 3am every day. From its familiar purple awning, to the modest but well laid out interior, Mons Venus has been attracting men in hordes for years now. Not much different on the inside than other strip clubs (it's all poles, mirrors and lights), Mons has nevertheless made a name for itself by having the area's best dancers, many of whom have appeared in Playboy. The couches, which are molded along the club's walls, make lap dances a rather public affair, too. Weekly specials and theme nights offer a different reason to go each night. From college night to special events like nude beauty pageants, they're always cooking up something to attract patrons at this legendary strip club. -- Carl Salminen
